A no holds barred comic book movie for adults,a mix of spiderman, superbad and kill bill.Simply put,Kick Ass has it all, great action sequences, funny lines, loads of violence and bloodshed, unique characters and a surprisingly clever story line that keeps us all glued to our seats.

The Plot:Dave(played by Aaron Johnson),an unpopular and unnoticed high schooler fantasizes about being a superhero and wonder's why no regular person has ever tried to become one.Dave does have one superpower though..being invisible to girls. One day on the way home from the comic book store Dave and his friend Todd are robbed while an onlooker does nothing to help. This is the final straw and Dave decides its time to become someone. He goes home and orders a costume online and gives himself the name Kick Ass.He creates a myspace page and then ventures into the world of superhero's,only thing is he has no superpowers, resources or skills except getting his ass kicked as he's sent to the hospital after his first superhero moment. However he soon becomes somewhat famous thanks to a viral youtube video while at the same time pissing off local mob Frank D'amico.

The film really gets it's wheels rolling when Kick Ass meets Big Daddy and Hit Girl,a Father-daughter ass kicking duo hell bent on getting revenge on the mob.(we leanrn why through a series of flashbacks)Hit Girl played by baby faced 11 year old Chole Moretz steals the show.Watching a purple wigged adolescent as he curses, says the word Cunt, severs limbs and pretty much annihilates everyone in her way is something I had never or might not ever see again..She did so with such carnage than even the Bride from Kill Bill would be impressed.Sure an 11 year old girl kicking ass and killing adults seems lame but it's done so perfectly that you can't help but smile and root for more.Moretz is so impressive on screen that Nicholas Cage almost seems like an afterthought(which might be a good thing)She already might be the most bad ass woman superhero ever.

Things get more complicated for Dave when another superhero,Frank D'amico's lonely son ,named Red Mist(played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse) pops out of the woodwork claiming to have been inspired by Kick Ass himself.Only Red Mist has his own plans for Kick Ass.Soon Kick Ass is being pulled in different directions by all these superheroes, not to mention the Katie( Lyndsy Fonseca),thegirl he's always had a huge crush on him, suddening being interested in him. What happens next for Kick Ass?

I already mentioned how good Moretz is as Hit Girl but credit must also be give to Aaron Johnson who really has something likable and real about him.He never gets annoying or tiresome like some teenager do.Christopher Mintz Plasse(Mclovin) also is a hoot to watch as Red Mist("Yeah, that's right! We're superheroes! You love us! ")Plasse just by walking into a room is able to make me laugh. That lisp he talks with has almost become a trademark.

Kick ass needs to be given a chance even if you doubt it,which I did after seeing trailers.I thought this would be a lame and watered down superhero movie for little teenyboppers. It turns out it was the complete opposite and Boy! was I happy to be wrong for a change
